Is your child overweight?
Managing childhood weight is tricky business; traditional methods can send children and teens to eating extremes. I provide parents with tools to communicate hunger and fullness feelings, institute a better structure for meals and snacks, purchase an optimal variety of food, and encourage physical activity. I focus on long-term, health-driven changes that empower kids and support their self-esteem.
Is your child a picky eater?
Feeding picky eaters can be challenging, and power struggles and mealtime battles often result when parents get frustrated. By understanding the parent/child feeding relationship, I help parents bring peace to family meals while broadening their child's food preferences.
Does your child have special needs?
Children with special needs (including learning disabilities and attention deficit problems) feel and function better with behavioral nutrition support. I work with the entire health care team to ensure that children with special needs are getting optimal nutrition with the best feeding approach.
Does
your child or teenager have poor body image?
Having
poor body image can prevent teens from succeeding in many aspects of their
lives. I challenge teens' views about societal standards of beauty and their
internal struggles to fit expectations that may be unrealistic. I help teens
build a peaceful, life long relationship with food and a positive self-image.
